The 64th running of the “Leavitt Machinery” Knox Mountain Hill Climb takes place May 20-21, 2023 in the city of Kelowna B.C. at Knox Mountain Park. The hill climb is the longest annually running paved hill climb in North America & attracts the top drivers from throughout B.C., Alberta & the Northwest United States.

The hill climb is 2.2 miles (3.5km) long & climbs 800 feet (245 meters) with a total of 10 turns from bottom to top for an average grade of 6.7%

Cars are run one at a time, each trying to reach the top of the hill in the lowest elapsed time. Drivers/Cars compete in various classes from open wheel formula cars to various sports car & sedan classes including powerful high horsepower GT cars. There is also a vintage race car class that brings out some great old cars from the past.

Each driver hopes to be crowned “King of the Hill” by posting the fastest time of the weekend. Each car gets one practice run & up to 7 timed runs over the course of the weekend. King of the Hill in 2022 was Mark Uhlmann in his Stohr WF1 sports racer.

The hill climb also supports two local charities, Kelowna General Hospital Foundation and Joeanna’s House.
