Drag racing in the Quick 32, PMRA and Pro Bike and Sled series gets underway May 16.
PMRA enters its 10th year, Quick 32 Sportsman Series its sixth, and PBSS enters its fourth year of racing
Cayuga, Ontario – Racing dates for the upcoming season have been announced for the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS).
Started in 2005, the PMRA has grown into one of the strongest Pro Modified series in this popular class, presenting a solid contingent of teams at some of the best facilities in Eastern Canada and the United States. The PMRA has become a major player in the Pro Modified ranks, and has produced some of the best racing of this nature in North America with top cars and drivers doing battle on drag strips in Ontario, Michigan, and Maryland.
Along with its annual regular championship, the PMRA has provided fans with performances at major national drag racing venues, and last year at a special Pro Mod shoot-out in Maryland, took both first and second spots against some of the best teams in the Pro Modified world.
For its 10th season, the PMRA will continue in this manner in 2014. A regular season schedule has been released comprised of racing dates, starting in May. The PMRA's two companion series, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, presented by NAPA Auto Parts, begins its six year of competition, and the PBSS, presented by Wiseco Performance Products, will enter its fourth year of racing.
All three series will kick off their seasons May 16-18 at the Grand Bend Motorplex for the RPM Magazine/Lucas Oil Blowout.
Then it's over to US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan May 30 – June 1 as the three series take part in the track's Super Chevy Show.
The Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the PBSS will make their inaugural appearances June 14-15 at Empire Dragway in Leicester, New York, an eight-mile race at the IHRA-sanctioned facility.
The next stop on the PMRA tour will be at the IHRA Nitro Jam Nationals June 20-22 at the Grand Bend Motorplex.
The PMRA will also be a part of the Canadian Nitro Nationals at Cayuga, to be held this year July 11-13, as will the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the PBSS.
Teams from all three series return to Grand Bend August 8-10 for the popular 20th Annual Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals, and finish their regular season at Grand Bend for the "Thunder by the Beach" Weekend August 29-31.
After a very successful showing at the inaugural International Pro Mod Challenge at the SuperChargers Showdown at Maryland International Raceway in 2013, the PMRA will return to this special event in Maryland, slated this year for September 26-27.
