Picton, Ontario – ClearWater Design Racing celebrated a successful first race weekend in the Canadian Touring Car Series (CTCC) at the Grand Prix du Canada in Montreal, June 6 and 7.

After sorting out a few mechanical details during practice and qualification, the 95 car and driver Ian Crerar came together for a strong showing in series Round #3 on Saturday morning. Crerar consistently improved his lap times as the race progressed, chalking up an 8th place finish in the Super Class and 14th overall.

In Round #4—shortened by the crash of one car—Crerar made a great start, passing four cars in the opening lap. Unfortunately this gain was lost as the race was re-gridded using initial starting positions—under FIA rules a race that is red-flagged in the first lap re-starts under starting grid positions. After the long-delayed re-start on a hot day, the car suffered from overheated brakes, resulting in a 10th place finish in Super Class after a nine-lap race.

After the event, driver and team owner Crerar was delighted with the weekend's success: "Huge thanks to our sponsors Yanes, Blumen Garden Bistro and Signs Unlimited. With their help we were able to put on a good showing in support of our charities, Young Adult Cancer Canada and Share the Warmth. I'd like to thank everyone who supported the team's efforts this weekend."

"The team worked great together," said James Drake, the ClearWater Design Racing team manager. "We were able to bring a group together into a highly effective unit in a very short time. I am happy with how well everyone knew their job and what to do under the pressure of a new format and particularly with the added demands of being on the world stage alongside the F1 race."

Looking ahead, fans will get another chance to see ClearWater Design Racing in action at Rounds 5 and 6 of the CTCC series at Calabogie Motorsport Park, June 21 and 22, 2014.
