The F1600 Super Series moves to the most prestigious race of the season, the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
Rounds 3&4 in the 8-Race Championship Featured at the Grand Prix of Montreal with Formula One
Montreal, Quebec – The Formula 1600 Super Series is back in action this weekend as a support race to Formula One's Grand Prix of Montreal.
Over 35 competitors from both the Ontario based Toyo Tires F1600 Championship and the Quebec based Toyo Tires Formula Tour 1600 will take part in two races over the course of this weekend.
Eureka, MO's Tristan DeGrand has put his stamp on both the Ontario and Quebec championships with 5 wins in 6 races. He will be challenged this weekend by Chase Pelletier, who is debuting a brand new Mygale chassis just delivered 2 weeks ago, and Olivier Bedard who has grabbed his first pole and win at Mont Tremblant just 2 weeks ago.
Zacharie Robichon took the fight to DeGrand in the first Super Series event and should be joined at the front of the grid by Michel Bonnet, Max Hanratty, Jeffrey Kingsley and Marc-Antoine Cardin.
The Super Series will take to the track on Friday at 6pm for qualifying. Race 1 will be Saturday at 2:30pm in front of tens of thousands of enthusiastic fans and Race 2 will go green at 9am Sunday.
The Montreal F1 weekend will be rounds 3&4 of the Super Series, next up is the Honda Indy Toronto and the finale will be at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres.
