Kicking off the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires Championship in Florida in early March, Canadian Antonio Serravalle is heading to Indianapolis this weekend. Competing in rounds three and four, the Pserra Racing driver will take on the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway alongside the NTT IndyCar Series and the complete Road to Indy program May 9-11.
"I am ready to get back on track in Indy," explained Serravalle. "The start of the season did not go as planned but it was only the first weekend. I have put that behind me and will be aiming towards the front of the field in Indy. We had decent pace in St. Pete but that speed did not turn into the results that we deserved, so we will be looking to turn that around this weekend."
Competing at the 2.439-mile, 14-turn permanent road course for the second year in a row, Serravalle will look to improve from his 2018 rookie season results. Claiming ninth and 11th place finishes last year, the young Canadian will utilize his experiences from 2018 during the 2019 edition of the event.
Serravalle continued, "Last year was my rookie season in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship, and I had a lot of firsts throughout the year. I feel that I am much more prepared now and ready to fight for race wins and podium results."
Antonio Serravalle currently sits ninth in the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires Championship points battle.
Unofficial practice will begin on Thursday morning with official practice taking place Thursday afternoon. A jam packed Friday will see a pair of qualifying sessions for both weekend races with the first wheel-to-wheel action (round three) happening on Friday afternoon. Round four will take the green flag on Saturday morning prior to the NTT IndyCar Series Indianapolis Grand Prix that afternoon. All the racing action can be seen on the Road to Indy TV app or via the Indy Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires Championship Facebook page.
