Toronto, Ontario – Radical Canada announced today the details of the 2018 Radical Canada Cup (RCC) racing series. Run in conjunction with the Canadian Automobile Sports Club (CASC) and open to all Radical Sportscars, the Championship builds on the successful history of one make championships in Canada and Radical racing series’ around the world.
"The Radical Canada Cup’s fifth season was very successful with great competition and a championship battle that went down to the very last race. We’ve recently sold several cars that will be racing with us in 2018" says Radical Canada’s President Robert Burgess.
Starting on May 18th at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, the championship will run six events at five different race tracks and finish on September 30th. The opening round of the championship will be the biggest event of the season running in conjunction with the Radical Cup North American Masters Series at Victoria Day Speedfest. Another highlight will the Labour Day event at Watkins Glen which will also feature Pirelli World Challenge. Each race weekend will consist of practice, qualifying sessions and two or three races, as well a test day held the Friday before each event. There will be lots of track time and participants will have the option of running just one day or having two drivers share a car to compete in the event.
Championship points will be awarded based on the CASC point system, each driver’s best 5 out of 6 events will be used to calculate their season points total. All participating cars must conform to the Series Rules which ensures parity amongst the Radicals and each driver must also have a valid CASC racing license.
