Young Canadian will attempt to help M1 GT Racing claim the Team Championship
Toronto, Ontario - With a very successful season to date, Canadian champion David Ostella will be back behind the wheel of the M1 GT Racing prepared Audi R8 LMS this coming weekend at the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) SprintX season finale. Taking place at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterrey, California, Ostella will look to help M1 GT Racing garner the Team Championship while he hunts for the top step of the podium.
"We have a had a great year so far and if it wasn't for some unlucky situations, we may be leading the Team Championship heading to the final round," explained Ostella. "However, I am happy and honored to be be with such a great team for their final event of the season and will do my best to achieve all the goals that I have set for myself personally, as well as with the team."
Ostella will be joined by Dion von Moltke in Monterrey, California as the duo will once again look to steer their Audi R8 to the front of the field. With podium results at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Bowmanville, Ontario as well as the Utah Motorsports Campus in Grantsville, Utah, Ostella and von Moltke will be gunning for the race win in California. With entries in the SprintX program expected to increase, the pair will look to come out on top and provide M1 GT Racing with their first victory.
Ostella continued, "We had a great test at NOLA last week as we were able to work through a run plan and setup changes. We found some speed over the course of the test and I am confident heading to California."
Heading into the final round, David Ostella currently sits second overall in the Drivers Championship battle while M1 GT Racing is second in the Team Championship. With a mathematical shot at both titles, both Ostella and M1 GT Racing will push hard to put the pressure on their fellow competitors.
With a promoter test day scheduled for Thursday, October 6, the pace will really begin to pick up on Friday as official sessions begin in the morning with a pair of practice sessions before qualifying commences that afternoon. Saturday will see the first of two races take place late in the afternoon with the second one Sunday afternoon.
