Hockenheim, Germany – Young Montréal-born driver Kami Laliberté had strong performances over the last two days, on the Hockenheimring road course as the German Formula 4 championship entered in its last event of the season. Following the good and fast lap times he recorded yesterday during qualifying that had him start in 7th and 8th on today’s race grids, Laliberté did very good in both races on today’s program, one in the morning and the other at mid-afternoon.

In the morning race, the driver of the Van Amersfoort Racing team driver had an excellent start which allowed him to climb up to 5 th place and engaged in a good fight with other participants, before a slight error sent him to 8th place, position where he completed the race. In the afternoon, again the driver of car number 35 had another excellent start, propelling him to 3rd place, his position when rain forced the stewards to neutralize the race.

Therefore, Laliberté earned his second podium of the season, following his win in the previous weekend program at Zandvoort, in the Netherlands.

"I had a very good start in the first race and I enjoyed my fight with Mick Schumacher amongst others.

Meanwhile, my teammate Joey Mawson was running in front for the win and the season’s championship. I regret only one little mistake that made me lose places and had me back in 8th position”, said the young Canadian driver.

"Regarding the second race, I have been able to avoid the pitfalls that the rain and the wet surface represent. I managed to climb up to the 3rd place and remain steadily there until the end of the race. Tomorrow, I will start from the third place and I really feel confident, hoping to end the season on a good note, especially since the forecast calls for a dry race. "

With the two wins earned by teammate Joey Mawson - crowned champion this afternoon - and today’s results casted by the young Canadian driver, Van Amersfoort Racing will try tomorrow to catch the German Formula 4 series team’s title. Laliberté, who today already improved his position in the series standings, will try to climb further up tomorrow, starting from the 3rd spot on the last race grid, scheduled for 3:35 pm (9:35 am EDT). One must remember that the five first rows of the grid are established with the reverse positions of the top ten drivers at the end of today’s first race.
