Zeewolde, The Netherlands – After a long six-week break, the German Formula 4 championship drivers are heading this weekend to the German Hockenheimring for their last event of the 2016 season. Among some three dozen hopefuls heading for the circuit renowned for its famed portion called the "stadium", is Canadian driver Kami Laliberté who celebrated his 17th birthday on September 13. The young Van Amersfoort Racing team driver will show on the Baden-Wurtenburg German region track sixty weeks after his very first win in the German championship, obtained in his last outing, on August 21 on the Dutch Zandvoort circuit.

Laliberté is familiar with the Hockenheimring where, in its third weekend in German Formula 4, at the conclusion of the 2015 season, he had obtained two top-10 in three starts. In addition, he has been testing there at the beginning of this month.

"I'm planning to do as well as I did lately at Zandvoort. Hockenheimring is a great course, it generates a lot of action. There are long straights and many corners that require heavy braking. It's also a circuit where you can overtake," said the young Canadian who also confesses that he is very happy to be back to action after a very long pause. Besides his recent victory in the Netherlands, Laliberté is also encouraged by his last year appearance on this same German track. "It was my first appearance there as a Formula 4 driver and I was fast, recording good times and good race results.”

The young Montréal-born racer currently ranked 13th overall in the world’s most competitive Formula 4 championship, with a 10th place in its scope if he is able to cast one or more successes over the upcoming weekend.

On the 4.574 km, 13 turns Hockenheim course, following exceptionally a complete day of free testing for all drivers today, the Friday, September 30, will be devoted to free practice and qualifying. The first two races will be disputed the next day, Saturday, October 1, at noon (6:00 am EDT) and 3:35 (9:35 pm EDT). The season will conclude the next day, Sunday, October 2, with a race scheduled for 3:00 pm (9:00 am EDT). Once again, the Formula 4 Championship shares the weekend with the ADAC GT Masters championship and if a sunny Sunday is expected, it is possible that rain may complicate the lives of the young drivers on Saturday.
