Toronto, Ontario – The Toyo Tires F1600 Championship season rolls into Canadian Tire Motorsport Park this weekend for the BARC Canadian Touring Trophy Races – rounds 10, 11 and 12 in the championship.

Defending Super Series champion Michael Adams has been untouchable in his Britain West Mygale Honda so far this season and would have a perfect record if not for some penalties suffered in the last round at Shannonville just two weeks ago. He will be challenged by some ultra-fast rookies and a new driver to the championship this weekend.

Topping that list of speedy youngsters is Trenton Estep. He swept the Montreal F1 Super Series weekend in his Exclusive Autosport Spectrum but the move to Ontario has proven to be tough when going head-to-head with the experienced Adams. He has the outright pace to get the job done but will need to tap into what he learned about the draft in his first trip to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park to grab a win.

Roman De Angelis has had an outstanding debut in his rookie season with the Brian Graham Racing Piper team. He has been on the podium every single weekend and with each lap continues to get quicker. He grabbed a win at Shannonville after Adams was penalized but last weekend in Quebec grabbed another, this time crossing the finish line first. Now that he has tasted victory and has experience on the fast CTMP track he will be a real threat.

Ben Hurst is in his sophomore season with Brian Graham Racing and given the fact he had never raced anything before jumping straight into the ultra-competitive F1600 scene he has improved remarkably. He is no stranger to the podium and looks ready for a breakout weekend.

The B Class has been dominated by Graham Lobban this season. He can be challenged on any given weekend by drivers like Steve Bodrug, Stephen Adams and his brother Keith Lobban. This class has provided some of the best on track action this season and is expected to be a hard fought battle when they line up and take the green.

New to the series will be Y.D. Reims of Kennesaw, GA and Kevin Kapelke of Kitchener, ON who makes the move up from F1200.

Practice and qualifying will get underway Saturday and race one will be in the early afternoon. Races two and three will take place on Sunday.
