Toronto, Ontario – Andretti Autosport driver Dalton Kellett made a special visit to the school that he attended while growing up in the Toronto area. TFS – Canada’s International School welcomed the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires driver to meet current students and reconnect with his former teachers just before the Cooper Tires Indy Lights Grand Prix of Toronto this weekend.
Kellett greeted students ranging in grades from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 7, talked about his experience at TFS – Canada’s International School and stressed the importance of the knowledge he gained at the prestigious school pertaining to the career path he has chosen.
School principal Mirna Hafez opened the day speaking words about Dalton and his time at the school from kindergarten to Grade 12. Kellett’s guidance and physics teachers both shared memories of the outstanding student and the impact that Dalton left behind.
“We were thrilled to welcome Dalton back to his alma mater,” said principal of TFS – Canada’s International School, ”a school that helped build the foundation for his interest in the French speaking language, in math and in physics especially, and supported him as he developed a unique talent in racing.”
“It was really nice to be back at TFS, where I went to school from Kindergarten to Grade 12,” remarked Dalton Kellett, graduate of TFS – Canada’s International School. “I was able to revisit with some of the teachers who had made a big impact on me growing up, it was really nice to reconnect with them. We had a great crowd of some promising young students and their parents, and we were happy to be able to give them the opportunity to see the race car and answer questions about racing, talk about my experience at TFS and my time as an engineering student at Queens (University). It was fun to relate those experiences to the kids and hopefully they can take some there as they progress through their academic studies. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the students and staff come out to the races this weekend. It was a very fun event and I am very thankful for their hospitality!”
The Cooper Tires Indy Lights Grand Prix of Toronto will begin tomorrow with two practice sessions. Qualifying and Race 1 will be held Saturday and Race 2 will be held Sunday. The circuit is located on the streets of Toronto around Exhibition Place. Tickets for this weekend’s event can be purchased at http://hondaindytoronto.com/tickets.
