The Prema team will continue in their July tour-de-force this weekend at Zandvoort. After entering two GP2 Series races in two weeks at Red Bull Ring (July 3rd) and Silverstone (July 10th), the squad led by Angelo Rosin will line-up for the FIA F.3 European Championship round at the Dutch seaside venue, located near the North Sea shores in an outstanding frame.
The round at Zandvoort will be the sixth round of a championship that Prema is currently leading with Lance Stroll. The young Canadian has 234 points. He is followed by his team-mate Maximilian Gunther (148 points), while Nick Cassidy stands fourth with 111 points. The top-10 is rounded out by rookie Ralf Aron (82 points), who is also the third best rookie of the season.
The Prema drivers scored eight wins out of 15 races held so far: Stroll won in five occasions, while Gunther took two wins and Aron got one. The historical Zandvoort Park hosted the Formula 1 World Championship 30 times until 1985 and has a mix of fast and slow corners. The old-style layout is surrounded by gravel traps that can make even the slightest mistake particularly costly.
René Rosin - Team Manager
“Zandvoort is definitely a special and fascinating circuit. Qualifying will be key this weekend because passing during the race will require to take some risks. Last year we won one of the three races with Rosenqvist. We hope to improve from that, to consolidate our championship position with all four drivers.”
