Bowmanville, Ontario – Max Riddle won GTS Round 8 at the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Canada presented by Audi at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Fifteen-year-old Parker Chase, and 16-year-old Nate Stacy finished second and third respectively. The 50-minute race was held in sunny, 60-degree weather conditions.

From an exciting standing start, pole-sitter Brett Sandberg, in the No. 13 ANSA Motorsports KTM X-Bow GT4, and Saturday's Round 7 winner Lawson Aschenbach, in the No. 10 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro Z28, made contact in turn one, which sent both cars spiraling back through the field with damage. Aschenbach and Sandberg both pitted for repairs, going laps down.

That promoted Riddle, in the No. 07 TRG-AMR Adobe Road Winery, LaSalle Solutions Aston Martin Vantage GT4, fresh off a SprintX win moments prior to the GTS race, to the front of the field, ahead of Mark Klenin, in the No. 62 Klenin Performance Racing Schomp/Premiere Copy/Mike Ward Masserati Maserati GranTurismo, and Chase, driving the No. 19 Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta GT4. in third.

The action continued on lap two with Chase doing everything in his power to hold off Scott Dollahite, in the No. 46 SDR Motorsports Lotus Evora, and Jack Roush Jr., driving the No. 60 Roush Performance Ford Boss 302, in the battle for third, with Dollahite eventually moving around Chase for third place.

A full-course caution was displayed on lap four, as James Vance, in No. 45 the Racers Edge SIN R1 GT4, made contact with the wall in turn five.

With the restart occurring with under 30 minutes to go, Riddle kept the lead while Roush Jr. passed Chase for fourth and then passed Dollahite a lap later for third.

Dollahite then had to fend off an attack from a persistent Dore Chaponick Jr., in the No. 12 ANSA Motorsports KTM X-Bow GT4, who had moved up to fifth around Chase.

On lap 13, as cars battled for position, contact ensued between Roush Jr., and Dollahite that ended both drivers' days in the tire barrier in turn three, and brought out the safety car for a full-course caution with Riddle leading, Klenin second and Chaponick Jr. now in third ahead of Chase.

With the incident cleaned up, the field resumed green-flag racing with just over five minutes remaining. Riddle led a four-car train into turn two as the leaders diced for the top spot at CTMP.

Among the late movers was Stacy, driving the No. 14 Roush Performance Road Racing Ford Boss 302, who moved to fifth in the late stages and battled with Chase for fourth.

Chase, meanwhile, got around Chaponick Jr. for third when his attack on Klenin failed to materialize in the final corner on lap 21.

With two laps to go, Riddle continued to lead Klenin by a slim-margin with Chase in third and the late-charging Stacy now up to fourth coming to the white flag.

Chase then pulled off a pass on the inside of Klenin out of the final corner coming to the white flag.

Heading on the back straight on the final lap, Riddle led with Chase quickly closing and Klenin right on his bumper in third.

With Riddle heading for the checkered flag and Chase in second by just three tenths, Klenin slid through the final corners, nearly losing control of his Maserati and handing third place to Stacy in the Mustang. It was still a career best 4th finish for the Maserati driver. Scott Heckert, in the No. 54 Racers Edge Motorsports SIN R1 GT4, completed the top five in round eight of the GTS season.

Of note, GTS Driver's points leader Aschenbach ended up 12th, just one position behind Sandberg who finished 11th. Tony Gaples, in the No. 11 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro Z28 won the Optima Batteries Best Standing Start Award for gaining seven positions on the first lap. Chase won both the Motortrendondemand.com Clean Pass of the Race Award and the Cadillac ATS-V Move of the Race for his pass on Chaponick. Stacy won the VP Racing Fuels Hard Charger Award for gaining 10 positions during the race.

"This whole weekend has been magical taking the win on my home track in my home country in front of a lot of fans, it couldn't be better," said Riddle. "Congratulations to Parker (Chase) and Nate (Stacy) for their amazing races. This whole weekend has been great, I found out my finance is pregnant, and three wins (two in SprintX, one in GTS), and a third (GTS Round 7), and four podiums, the whole weekend has been one of the wildest ever. I couldn't be happier."

"It was a good race, we have been struggling all weekend," said Chase. "We qualified 14th yesterday and I didn't expect to do this good today. We started ninth and got up to third. I was just shooting for points and to do as could as I could. The yellows really helped us."

"The race went pretty well, we started 13th with a bit of rough start and got the car underneath us," said Stacy. "We were trying to save tires, and the double yellows helped us. On the restart we were sitting sixth and trying to get as much as we could as possible -- can't wait for next weekend."
