Hockenheim: Shift changeover in Mercedes-AMG DTM Team. On this week's third day of testing, a new group of four drivers took over in the cockpits of the four Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM cars being used for the final round of testing before the start of the season at Hockenheim.
After Lucas Auer, Maximilian Götz, Daniel Juncadella and Esteban Ocon had been in action during the first two days of testing on Tuesday and Wednesday, Paul Di Resta, Gary Paffett, Christian Vietoris and Robert Wickens took the cars out for the first time on Thursday this week. Also, Daniel Juncadella returned to the cockpit for a tire test with Hankook.
All eight drivers in the Mercedes-AMG DTM Team have now been out on track this week. They have notched up 1.287 laps between them so far during the three days of testing, which equates to 5.886 km.
Di Resta, Paffett, Vietoris and Wickens will bring the week of testing to a close on Friday. The team will then return to base in order to prepare the Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM cars for the season opener on the weekend of 6th-8th May.
Gary Paffett:
"The morning was a little disappointing. It rained, and we had no opportunity to test in the dry. Luckily, the whole afternoon stayed fine, so we made some progress with the car. I'm now looking forward to more work on the car tomorrow."
Paul Di Resta:
"A tough day in tough conditions. Nevertheless, we worked hard on the car. We've still got a lot to do tomorrow, but I'm optimistic and think that we can continue to improve."
