Alex Tagliani Inducted into the 2015 Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame

Montreal, Quebec – Canadian racecar driver Alex Tagliani joined an elite group on Saturday night when he was inducted into the 2015 Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame during the annual induction ceremonies in Toronto. Three other accomplished Canadians who dedicated a great part of their life to Canadian motorsports: John Chisholm, Ralph Luciw and Don Thomson Jr. as well as Sir Jackie Stewart, a three-time World Formula One Champion and a two-time winner at the Canadian Grand Prix at the Mosport Race Track in the early seventies, were also inducted.

During his speech at the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.'s Glenn Gould Studio, the Canadian driver from Terrebonne, Quebec thanked all who contributed to his success during his prestigious journey through the world of motor racing. He began with Nicole Lascelle, who submitted his name to the Selection Committee. "I would also like to thank the Board Members who received the initial nomination request from Nicole Lascelle, and then selected my name as one of the candidates. It is a great honour for me to join the most celebrated names in Canadian motorsport."

Tagliani also underlined the unfailing support from his father Raymond and his mother Gabrielle, in the early parts of his racing career and the continued encouragement from his wife Bronte during the past 10 years. "My parents did everything they could at the beginning of my career so that I could follow my dream, and for this, I will always be grateful," continued Tagliani. "I would also like to say a special thank you to all the sponsors who kept believing in me throughout my career and I am thankful to everyone who was part of my success, from those who worked on my cars, to all who functioned at higher echelons throughout my career. There will always be a place in my heart for all the fans that came to the track to support me and motor racing. For everyone involved, this is the moment I think of you."

Tagliani, however, has no intention of resting on his laurels. He has big plans for the 2016 season, plans for which are already underway.
