Exclusive Autosport Duo Set for Formula Tour 1600 Weekend

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Exclusive Autosport will field a pair of entries in this weekend’s Formula Tour 1600 event at Circuit Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th July, with Parker Thompson and Scott Andrews driving for the reigning championship-winning team.

Thompson returns following a positive debut in the series at the previous Formula Tour round at Circuit ICAR two weeks back piloting the #92 Exclusive Autosport / Spectrum / Honda HPD entry. The 17-year-old from Red Deer, Alberta powered his way to a pair of F1600 victories at the Mirabel track, his first ever wins in open-wheel racing, having signed to race with Exclusive Autosport earlier that same week.

Australia’s Scott Andrews will make his first starts at both Circuit Mont-Tremblant and in the Formula Tour F1600 Series this weekend. The 24-year-old currently leads the US-based F1600 Formula F Championship Series competing for Exclusive Autosport.

Andrews broke the single-season record for most wins in the series earlier this month at Mid-Ohio, recording his seventh win of 2015 and the eighth in total for Exclusive Autosport, another series record.

Exclusive Autosport has now won three out of the four Formula Tour 1600 races entered in 2015.

Thompson’s brace of wins at Circuit ICAR in early July followed on from Patrick Dussault’s victory for the team at the Canadian Grand Prix in June where he won the first of the double-header F1600 races at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

When competing full-time in the series in 2013 and 2014 the team won the championship with Thomas McGregor and Tristan DeGrand respectively.

“I’m excited to be fielding both Parker and Scott up at Circuit Mont-Tremblant this weekend,” commented Team Principal Michael Duncalfe. “We couldn’t have asked more of Parker from his first races with the team. To claim a pair of front-row starts and then two wins, his first ever in car racing, was fantastic. He’ll be looking to build on those results and again, he’ll be racing at a track he hasn’t been too before.

“Scott’s already proved that learning circuits is one of his strengths and he’s having a stellar season in the F1600 Formula F Championship in America. I’m excited that he’s going to come race with us in Canada for the weekend. He’s obviously enjoying a phenomenal season and I expect him to be no less competitive racing in Quebec. I look forward to seeing Parker and Scott represent the team and Spectrum chassis at Tremblant.

Formula Tour F1600 Series - Exclusive Autosport Driver Quotes:

Parker Thompson (@ParkerTRacing): #92 Exclusive Autosport / Spectrum / Honda Racing HPD

Quote: “It goes without saying that I’m keen to get back behind the wheel with Exclusive Autosport. We had a great weekend at ICAR. It was my first time in F1600 and at that track so naturally to leave with my first career victories was something special. I’d be happy to repeat that at Circuit Mont-Tremblant obviously but I know how close the competition will be. I’m looking forward to learning the track and working with everyone on the team again. We can hopefully carry some momentum forward and enjoy another strong weekend.”

Scott Andrews (@scottandrews44): #94 Exclusive Autosport / Exclusive Management Inc. / Automobility PTY Ltd / Andrews Automotive / Spectrum / Sparco / Honda Racing HPD

Quote: “I’m pumped that I’m going racing in the team’s home country. We’re enjoying a lot of success together in the US at the moment and I hope we can emulate that at Circuit Mont-Tremblant. I know the team’s pedigree in the series and I’d love to add my name to the list of winners for them in Canada. It’s always fun to sample competition in another series and learn a new circuit. I’ve heard a lot about the track and can’t wait to get up there.”
