Daytona Beach, Florida - It's anyone's guess to forecast winners in the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin as the series reaches the halfway point of the 2015 season July 4-5 at Calabogie Motorsports Park.

About the only predictable things on track in the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA)-sanctioned Single-Make Series are unpredictability - and tight racing.

Rounds 5 and 6 will take place Sunday, July 5 at the challenging, 3.137-mile (5.05 km) track at Calabogie, the longest circuit in Canada. Round 5 is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. (ET), with Round 6 at 2:20 p.m. Both races are 45 minutes.

The event opens Saturday, July 4 with practice at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and qualifying at 3:25 p.m.

The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin is its fifth season in 2015, producing intense, exciting competition for semi-professional and aspiring professional drivers in the world's most produced and iconic race car, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA)-sanctioned championship is one of 20 global Porsche single-make Cup Racing series and is the perfect platform for aspiring drivers to ascend to the highest levels of GT competition, such as the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.

Racing is divided into two classes - Platinum Cup, featuring the 2014 and 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, which is based on the seventh, and current, generation of the street car; and Gold Cup, which is comprised of the previous iteration (model years 2010-2013) of the race car. A Masters Championship also is conducted in the Platinum class. Each class is awarded with its own podium at the end of every race and individual champion at the end of every season. Points are awarded by finish in class.

Chris Green, from Montreal, leads the Platinum Cup standings with 74 points in the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche as he seeks his first title after finishing runner-up in 2013 and 2014.

Consistency has been Green's hallmark in 2015. He is the only driver to stand on the podium as one of the top three finishers in all four rounds. That could continue at Calabogie, where he won both rounds in 2013 and finished first and second in 2014.

Green taught a master class of control and speed to win Rounds 1 and 2 this season on Victoria Day Weekend in mid-May at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP). But just when it appeared Green might cruise to his first title, the scenario changed at Toronto.

2014 Platinum Cup champion Scott Hargrove returned to the series in Toronto with OpenRoad Racing, the team that guided him to the title last summer. Hargrove, from Surrey, British Columbia, responded by winning his first start of the year, Round 3, in Toronto in the No. 25 OpenRoad Racing Porsche. Green finished second to continue to pad his points lead.

Hargrove still faced a large points deficit because he didn't compete in the opening two rounds of the season at CTMP. But his victory sent a clear message that Green wasn't going to run away from the field.

And then there were three. Highly touted sports car rookie Daniel Morad made his breakthrough in Round 4, earning his first Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin victory in wet conditions at Toronto in the No. 22 Alegra/Porsche Centre Oakville Motorsports entry. Hargrove finished second, with Green third.

Morad, from Thornhill, Ontario, is in third in the standings, 15 points behind Green. A broken tie rod due to contact with another driver in Round 3 forced former international junior open-wheel driver Morad out of the race and into 14th place, his only non-podium finish this season.

Marco Cirone, from Toronto, is another driver following the winning formula of consistency. Reigning Platinum Masters champion Cirone leads that division by four points over Tim Sanderson and is second overall in the Platinum Cup standings with 62 points, 12 behind Green.

Cirone has two second-place finishes and has placed seventh or better overall in all four rounds this season in the No. 88 Porsche fielded by Ottawa-based powerhouse team Mark Motors Racing.

Another podium hope for Mark Motors Racing is 17-year-old rookie Harry Steenbakkers, from Ottawa. Steenbakkers has turned laps at Calabogie since he was 11 and has worked at the track since he was 13, as his father, Marc, is part of the circuit's ownership group.

So track familiarity could help the talented Steenbakkers earn his first career podium finish in the No. 78 Mark Motors Racing Porsche. His best finish this season is fourth.

Steenbakkers and 2014 Gold Cup champion Sanderson are tied for fourth in the Platinum Cup standings with 52 points. Sanderson, from Pickering, Ontario, will look to challenge Cirone for Platinum Masters supremacy in the No. 07 Alegra/Porsche Centre Oakville Motorsports entry. He won a Gold Cup class race last year at Calabogie.

Hargrove is sixth with a near-perfect 38 points from just two starts.

The Gold Cup race also remains unpredictable and tight among two series rookies and a veteran who was on the grid for the very first Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin event in May 2011 at Calabogie.

Series rookie Orey Fidani, from Woodbridge, Ontario, has converted a victory and three runner-up finishes into a ride to the top of the championship standings in the No. 13 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche. He leads veteran Martin Harvey, 74-68, in the standings.

Harvey, from Berthierville, Quebec, is enjoying a resurgence this season in the No. 08 Wingho Motorsport Porsche. He jump-started his title charge by winning Rounds 3 and 4 in Toronto, his first victories since the inaugural season of the series in 2011.

Rookie Bruno Chapinotti, a Brazilian native living in Toronto, is third with 52 points in the No. 12 C&C Motorsports Porsche. Chapinotti rebounded from missing Round 1 due to damage in a practice crash by scoring three consecutive podium finishes, including a victory in Round 2.

Michael de Quesada, 15, will look to recover at Calabogie from a rough event at Toronto in the No. 24 Alegra/Porsche Centre Oakville Motorsports entry. His Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car suffered heavy damage in a crash in Round 3, and he was unable to compete in Round 4. De Quesada, from Odessa, Florida, is fourth with 48 points.

Ottawa-based Mark Motors Racing will add a third car to its stable at this event, which takes place at the team's home track. Ron Tomlinson, from the Ottawa suburb of Manotick, Ontario, will make his series debut in the No. 48 Mark Motors Racing Porsche.
