Lausitzring, Germany - The DTM staged races three and four this weekend at the Lausitzring in front of 60,000 spectators. Spanish driver Daniel Juncadella (PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) placed sixth in this home race for Mücke, his Mercedes-AMG DTM team. Last year, Juncadella achieved fourth place at the Lausitzring which is his best result so far in the DTM.

Christian Vietoris (Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) in seventh place also finished in the top 8. Last year's winner, Pascal Wehrlein (gooix Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) crossed the line in 14th place. Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM), Maximilian Götz (Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM) and Robert Wickens (SILBERPFEIL Energy Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM) finished 16th, 17th and 18th respectively.

Austrian driver Lucas Auer (BWT Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM) retired ten minutes before the end. 2005 DTM champion Gary Paffett (EURONICS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM Gary Paffett ended Sunday's race in Hockenheim on the podium. At the Lausitzring, though, he had to retire his car to the pits with gearbox problems during the initial stages of the race.

The next race: Races five and six of the 2015 season will be staged at Nuremburg's street circuit (June 26th-28th), as the DTM racing year reaches a climax.

Comments after the Race

Robert Wickens (26, Canada):
P18
Car number: 6
Team: SILBERPFEIL Energy Mercedes-AMG (Mercedes-AMG DTM Team HWA)

"A day to forget. Everything felt good in qualifying. I got blocked on my lap, unfortunately, and so placed 16th on the grid. I had a good start and was twelfth after the first lap, but we didn't have that much speed to continue to move forwards. I couldn't get the DRS from the cars in front of me and had to stay on the defensive throughout the race. Finally, I defended too much and made a mistake, and that was it. A weekend to forget. I'm now looking forward to the Norisring."

Daniel Juncadella (24, Spain):
P6
Car number: 12
Team: PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG (Mercedes-AMG DTM Team Mücke)
Car: PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM

"So far this season, I've been getting off to really good starts. It's especially important here to get off the line like a rocket. I gained two positions on the first lap, and after that, my pace was good. The car ran good, and I'd like to thank the team for that. I had a strong race pace. So it was a lot of fun out there. Towards the end, I attacked Mortara. I don't consider his manoeuvre to have been 100% fair. He was defending his position on the inside which is OK. I then braked late and tried to go round on the outside. The way I saw it, he turned into me and left me no room, so I was forced out onto the grass. But at least I gave it a go."

Ulrich Fritz, Head of Mercedes DTM:

"That was a tough weekend for us. Daniel did a good job as the best non-Audi driver by placing sixth, but generally speaking, we expected more than P6 and P7. We had unforeseen problems with the tyres, which we'll now have to look at in detail with our tyre partner, Hankook."
