Waterloo, Ontario - Castrol presents Victoria Day SpeedFest will kick-start the 2015 season May 15-17 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

This weekend marks the first pair of races for the Toyo Tires Formula 1600 Championship Series - the premiere open wheel series in Ontario, sanctioned by CASC Ontario Region. The series is comprised of a six event, double-header format and competes at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Shannonville Motorsport Park and Calabogie Motorsports Park.

Amy Castell, 19, from Waterloo, Ont. will contest a 1990 Reynard for the B Class title in the Toyo Tires Formula 1600 Championship.

“Last season with the Toyo Tires Formula 1600 Champion was really strong for me. I got my first win at the Toronto Honda Indy and numerous podium finishes,” commented Castell. “I’m looking to replicate that success for the 2015 season and make all our partners proud.”

Castell is supported by Landmark Cinemas Canada, Castrol Canada, Bell Racing USA, and Performance Physixx.

She’d also like to officially welcome Leaf Racewear to her program. Leaf Racewear is a Canadian manufacturer of auto racing apparel and safety equipment specializing in fire retardant racing suits and custom team apparel. This weekend Castell will be sporting a custom-made Elite Series suit that was designed and manufactured in London, Ontario.

The Toyo Tires Formula 1600 series is joined by NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Pirelli World Challenge, Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Continental Tire, Canadian SuperCar Series, and the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin.

19 year old Amy Castell of Waterloo Ontario not only competes in the Toyo Tires Formula 1600 open wheel racing series she is a business student at Wilfrid Laurier University.

She's been honoured with the Muriel Knap Trophy for the second straight year and became only the third driver to accomplish this feat in the 35-year history of this prestigious award.
