BGR is pleased to announce Taegen Poles has signed with the team. Taegen will spend the 2015 season in a testing program and make her official race debut later in the season. Taegen has blended in well with the BGR team, showing great promise with an ability to absorb information quickly. Taegen was a winner of the CASC Karts to Cars program last fall and is making the most of that opportunity to venture into the F1600 series.
The MIKA 2014 Rotax Junior Champion will spend the season shadowing the BGR squad on race weekends and getting as many test days in as possible to better prepare her for her debut in the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship. She will continue her karting throughout the season after a championship winning season before making the full time transition to F1600 for the 2016 season.
“I am very pleased that Taegen has chosen our team to begin her open wheel career with. In our first few outings she has demonstrated a great appetite for learning and has made great strides already. She is fun to have around and the team is excited about her future with us. We have some programs we will be unveiling later in the season that will be built around Taegen and her debut in the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship. It is great to have her as part of the BGR Team,” states team owner Brian Graham.
“For a long time, I’ve been anticipating making the transition from karting to cars. Now that the time has come, I’m extremely happy that I get to do so with the Brian Graham Racing team. Signing on as a development driver is something I’m really excited about, because of the endless opportunities it can present. The experience I’ll gain will be invaluable, and I couldn’t have asked to be part of a better team,” comments BGR newest driver Taegen Poles.
“I am thrilled to hear the news of Taegen Poles starting her car racing career with Brian Graham Racing. BGR has been an integral part of the Karts to Cars initiative from day one and has a long history of developing young talent. She will do very well with them and I can’t wait to see her on track,” comments Jason Sharpe of Move Motorsports and co organizer of the Karts to Cars program.
BGR is hitting the track again this coming weekend at Shannonville Motorsports Park for the annual CASC Spring Fling. The team will test again the following week at CTMP as well as they prepare for the opening rounds of the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship. BGR has put more drivers in the winners circle than any other team in OFFC history and had a lock on the Rookie of the Year for 8 season in a row. With an alumni list that boasts drivers who have gone on to Championships all over North America to several starters in the Indy 500, BGR is well known as the place to begin a career in open wheel racing.
