Mirabel, Quebec – Steve Côté had an excellent event at the ICAR Complex this Saturday, positioning himself among the leaders until the driver of the #29 car from the Allrem Racing Evirum/BKFC team was forced to retire after 26 laps during the Evirum 100.
It was in front of thousands of spectators that the NASCAR Canada drivers took to the tarmac at Mirabel Airport. Evirum was in the spotlight as the official partner of the event. Fans were invited to the Evirum booth to test their environmental knowledge and eco-responsibility for a chance to win a variety of prizes. Additionally, Steve Côté’s oval car was on display right next to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship tent, allowing spectators to get a close look at the #29 Evirum/BKFC race car.
Steve Côté, who considers ICAR his home track since the Allrem Racing workshop is located there, was comfortable on the 2.3-kilometer course. During the practice session, Côté clocked the 8th fastest time, just 0.847 seconds off the top spot. The competition on the track was intense, making the qualifying session a challenging one.
However, the Evirum-liveried Chevrolet proved to be fast, with Côté securing the 4th quickest time, just 0.705 seconds from pole position.
“We had an excellent car,” said Steve Côté. “The team worked hard so we could fight for a podium finish.”
As the green Evirum flag was waved by Christine Murad, Vice President of Evirum, Côté got to work on the track. He and the Top 10 drivers engaged in several battles, swapping positions. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire on lap 26.
“We had a transmission failure,” explained Jonathan Côté, Crew Chief. “A seal broke, and the transmission oil leaked out. We had the potential to finish in the Top 5, even on the podium, if it weren’t for this problem.”
The driver of the Evirum/BKFC car was in 5th position when he encountered this mechanical issue. “It’s really unfortunate,” expressed Steve Côté. “We finally had luck on our side at the start of the race, and the car was really good. We’re left wanting more. I’d love to give Evirum a podium finish before the end of the season; we’re due for some success!”
He continued by saying, “I’d like to thank everyone who came out to support us at the Evirum 100. The stands were filled with spectators wearing the colors of our Allrem Racing Evirum/BKFC team. The players from the Pétroliers du Nord, as well as Jade Masson-Wong, a BKFC fighter whose fight on September 6 is fast approaching, were also present to support the Allrem Racing team and meet the fans. I’m really happy and fortunate to have so many supporters and a partner as committed as Evirum.”
The next event for Allrem Racing will be on September 1 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Find the race schedule for the Allrem Racing Evirum/BKFC #29 team here.

Mirabel, Quebec - Andrew Ranger collected his third win of the season, on Saturday, as Paillé Course//Racing was at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, QC, in the NASCAR Canada series. Marc-Antoine Camirand also had a strong outing, earning a third-place finish.
Andrew Ranger was hoping to be back strong at Circuit ICAR, where he had won four times in the past, and knew that his GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n° 27 Camaro could be very fast. Second in practice, just 0.009 second behind the leader, he posted the fastest time in qualifying, setting a new track record and earning his first pole position of the season.
“My team Innovation Auto Sport prepared a very fast car, and we were aiming at the victory here,” told Ranger. Right at the start of the race, he set a quick pace, but conceded the lead after 6 laps.
“I have been able to take the lead back with about 12 laps to go and I pushed to keep the lead during those last laps. We are very happy with this third win of the season. It has been a very good day for my team Innovation Auto Sport and Paillé Course//Racing. It has been an almost perfect day with the pole and the win. It feels very good to be back in victory lane after a disappointing end of the race at GP3R,” concluded Ranger.
Marc-Antoine Camirand also scored a strong podium finish, earning the third place in the Evirum 100.
“During practice session and qualifying, I struggled a bit to find speed in my GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada n°96 Camaro, but my team Camirand Performance worked hard throughout the day,” Camirand mentioned.
Sixth in practice and fifth in qualifying, Camirand was hoping that he could have a car to battle for the win in the 43-lap race. “At the beginning of the race, I quickly climbed to fourth spot, and for most of the race, the top-four set up a very fast pace. I was saving my car and I knew that I could be very strong at the end,” stated Camirand.
After the last restart with 12 laps to go, he took the third spot and started putting pressure on the leaders.
“We had a very fast pace at the end. I could have taken a few more laps, because I believe that my car was better on the long run. We are still very happy with this third place. We score good championship points, and we are heading to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with good momentum,” concluded Camirand.
With three races left in the season, Camirand leads the NASCAR Canada series’ drivers’ standings, with 23 points over Ranger.
Paillé Course//Racing, with drivers Andrew Ranger and Marc-Antoine Camirand, will be back on track next weekend, on the fast road course of the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, near Bowmanville, ON.

DJ Kennington, driver of the #17 Castrol EDGE Dodge, showcased his grit and resilience at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec this past Saturday, despite facing significant challenges throughout the race.
The race weekend began with the #17 team making adjustments and searching for speed during the practice session. After qualifying in 14th position, Kennington knew he would have to fight his way through the field to secure a strong finish.
As the race got underway, Kennington wasted no time, skillfully navigating through traffic to break into the top ten early in the 100km event. However, just as the #17 Castrol EDGE Dodge was finding its rhythm, an unexpected mechanical issue with the motor emerged, hampering Kennington's performance. Despite this setback, the veteran driver battled through the mechanical difficulties to bring his car home in 11th place.
While the result is not what the #17 Castrol EDGE Dodge driver hoped for, he maintains fifth spot in the overall championships standings, just a single point behind fourth position.
DJ Kennington Quotes: "The Castrol Dodge really came alive in the early part of the race, and we got into the top ten pretty quickly. It wasn’t long after I could feel the straightaway speed wasn’t there. We had a quick look and think it’s a broken rocker so definitely down on power. Great effort by the team again this week, we’ll be back strong next weekend."

Mirabel, Quebec - Alexandre Tagliani, at the helm of the #80 Chevrolet St-Hubert / BFL Canada / 440 Laval Chevrolet / Qwick Wick / Arobas / La Petite Bretonne, showcased an impressive performance during the Evirum 100 at Complexe ICAR. Starting from 23rd position, he fought his way to a 6th place finish. Despite his team’s tremendous efforts to overcome persistent brake issues, Tagliani's aspirations for a victory remained just out of reach.
The day was marked by technical difficulties from the get go, with challenges emerging during the early morning practice session. “First and foremost, I have to thank the team for their hard work this weekend,” Tagliani said. “It certainly wasn’t the weekend we anticipated. They worked tirelessly. From the first practice, we knew we were facing brake problems.”
Despite Theetge Motorsport’s relentless efforts to address the brake issues, the problem persisted, hampering the car’s overall performance. “We managed to improve the situation by about 70%,” Tagliani explained. “Starting near the back and finishing 6th was a testament to the team's effort. But it was bittersweet because we knew the car was capable of more.”
The 43-lap race was also filled with dramatic restarts and strategic overtakes. Tagliani had to navigate carefully, particularly given the fragile state of his brakes, which significantly influenced his race strategy. “I had to be extremely cautious. Then there was some rough racing ahead during a restart. I got squeezed into a corner with no room to maneuver, which led to contact with another car. We lost ground, and the suspension was damaged in the incident, which affected our speed towards the end.”
Despite the setbacks, Tagliani and his team remain determined. “We’re going to regroup, prepare, and hope for better results at Mosport.”
Next Sunday’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park presents a new opportunity for the team to demonstrate their resilience and aim for an improved performance.
