Daytona, Florida – The race to the season finale is heating up as the NASCAR Canada Series presented by Pinty’s and Evirum, shifts gears towards Delaware Speedway this Sunday, September 8. Located just outside London, Ontario, the historic track will host Canada’s best drivers as they go head-to-head over 200 laps, all in pursuit of victory.

 

The action kicks off with a practice session at 11:00 a.m., followed by qualifying at 2:30 p.m. The highly anticipated Delaware 200 is set to start at 4:30 p.m. Canadian fans can catch the race live on the TSN+ app, while international viewers can tune in via FloRacing.com.

 

Delaware Speedway, the oldest operating paved track in Canada, has been an integral part of Canadian motorsport since 1952. The NASCAR Canada Series has raced here 11 times since 2009, including three appearances in 2021, following adjustments to the calendar due to the pandemic.

 

Among the top contenders, all eyes will be on D.J. Kennington, who will pilot the #17 Castrol Edge/Brimstone Games/CIM Metals Dodge. The Ontario native boasts five victories on this 1/2-mile oval, with his first win dating back to 2009 and his most recent in 2021.

 

Alex Labbé and Andrew Ranger are also both previous winners at Delaware, in 2017 and 2021, respectively. Ranger returns behind the wheel of the #27 GM Paillé Chevrolet. Also on the radar is Kyle Steckly, driving the #22 APC/Pennzoil/SIE Chevrolet. After leading a portion of last year’s race, the young driver is poised to be a serious contender this Sunday.

 

Cayden Lapcevich returns to the track in the #32 Chevrolet, representing Ohsweken Speedway, Chantarellie Promotions, and GSR. He'll be teaming up with Glenn Styres, who will pilot the #0 car under the same banners.

 

Championship leader Marc-Antoine Camirand, currently sitting at 472 points, will be looking to add a Delaware Speedway victory to his already impressive résumé. 

 

Meanwhile, fresh off a win at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Kevin Lacroix is eager to secure another triumph for NAPA Racing. Lacroix currently holds 3rd place in the championship, just 3 points behind teammate and rival Andrew Ranger from Innovation Auto Sport.

 

Danny Chisholm, driving part-time in the #8 Fast Eddie Speedwear/Janiking Chevrolet, will be back on track this Sunday with the support of the EHR team. The young Nova Scotian driver grabbed a 3rd-place finish at the NAPA 300 in Edmonton back in July and will be looking to carry that momentum forward.

 

Steve Côté will be aiming to shine in his #29 Evirum/BKFC Chevrolet, as this is one of his preferred oval tracks. Still, he’ll face stiff competition from Donald Theetge in the #80 Group Theetge/Revêtement Vulcain Chevrolet. The Québec driver is consistently among the front-runners at Delaware Speedway.

 

Also joining the field will be Larry Jackson in the #84 Big Chief Meat Snacks/E3/Oniel Electric/Dume Energy Drink Dodge. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, who has had a challenging season, will represent WeatherTech Canada and OmniFab in his #47 Dodge.
