Mirabel, Quebec - Innovation Auto Sport, featuring Kevin Lacroix and Andrew Ranger, secured both the victory and the second-place finish at the Evirum 100 this past Saturday in Mirabel.
Kevin Lacroix, driving the #74 Adaptive One Calipers/NAPA Racing Dodge, finished the race in 2nd place after a heated battle with his teammate.
The NAPA Racing team started the day strong, setting the fastest time during the morning practice session. Lacroix then secured the second-fastest time in qualifying, placing him on the front row for the race start, though on the outside line.
As soon as the green flag waved for the Evirum 100, Lacroix wasted no time pressuring the leader. He took the lead on lap 7. Although Lacroix was comfortably in first place, three cautions played a crucial role in the race's outcome, as he lost the lead to Ranger during the final restart.
"Andrew had the speed to be in first place at the end of the race," said Lacroix. "And when he passed me, I saw Marc-Antoine Camirand in my mirror, so I also had to protect the team's 1-2 finish."
He continued, "It was a great race. I would have liked to win it to set the record for the most victories at ICAR, but that will have to wait. I would like to thank all the NAPA guests who were there to support me."
Kevin Lacroix will be back on track next weekend for the final road course event of the season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
