Terrebonne, Quebec - Alex Tagliani will head to Circuit ICAR this Saturday to compete and try to reclaim what he believes is rightfully his, as the 2023 race slipped through his fingers.
This season, Tagliani and Donald Theetge are sharing the wheel of the #80 Chevrolet, with Tagliani taking on the road courses and Theetge handling the oval tracks.
The driver from Lachenaie is more motivated than ever to win on the tarmac of the former Mirabel airport. He’ll be behind the wheel of the #80 St-Hubert / BFL Canada / 440 Laval Chevrolet / Qwick Wick / Arobas / La Petite Bretonne car, representing several partners from Montreal’s North Shore.
The Evirum 100, a 43-lap race, promises to be action-packed, especially since Tagliani came up short of victory last year. Despite dominating the race and leading the field, he lost the win, ending up in third place after contact in Turn 1 late in the race.
"The result last year didn’t reflect our capability," says Alex. "Victory was within our reach, and the team deserved it. This year, again, we are capable of fighting for the win. We’ve shown our speed on track, most recently at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières."
He continues by noting, "Theetge Motorsport has gone the extra mile to prepare the car for ICAR, and we even conducted tests there two weeks ago. We’re aiming for the best possible result."
Alex Tagliani invites NASCAR Canada fans to come out to Complexe ICAR this Saturday, August 24. Practice sessions will begin at 10:15 AM, followed by qualifying at 1:30 PM. Spectators will have the chance to try his new energy drink, Tag on the Go, and meet the drivers during the autograph session. The green flag for the Evirum 100 will drop at 5:30 PM. The event will also be broadcast live on TSN+ and FloRacing.com.
