Milverton, Ontario – The 22 Racing team haulers are on route to Saskatoon for the first and second events of three in Western Canada. The teams look forward to this portion of the NASCAR Pintys Series schedule every year in July.

Events kick off at Wyant Group Raceway in Saskatoon on Wednesday July 25th with the Bayer Crop Science Velocity Prairie Thunder Twin 125 races with both being championship points events. Then move on to Edmonton International Raceway in Wetaskiwin, AB for the Luxxur 300, the final Western event on Saturday July 28th.

Donald Theetge driver of the #24 Mercedes-Benz St Nicolas/Circuit Acura Camaro is avidly looking forward to his return to Western Canada. In his debut in Saskatoon last year he posted one top five. “I am really excited to return to the west races this year,” said Theetge. “In order to get back in the championship points battle we will need some good finishes and I like both of these tracks.”

Alex Tagliani who pilots the #18 EpiPen/Rona/St. Huberts Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is looking for a better start to his west races. After a crash in the first of the twin races last year, he struggled in the second. In five previous starts Tagliani has two top five finishes and looks to better that this year. “Looking forward to our western trip,” said Tagliani. “Also look forward to trying our oval car again. I think we all felt we left a lot on the table at Chaudiere after a good race at Jukasa. I think it is up to all of us now to bring up the performance of our oval car. I’m excited to see what we can do as this is an important trip. The Saskatoon race is also risky with two races both for points, so you need to manage them well to come out with good results. We are coming off a Toronto weekend that was almost perfect. Overall, we are doing everything we can to always put good cars on the race track and consistency will be key for us for the rest of the year. We are slowly climbing back in the standings after we hurt ourselves on opening weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Never the less after four rounds we have two podiums and we could have won a race. I have a good feeling about this trip so if the races are strong for us the championship points should be good for us as well.”

Marc-Antoine Camirand in the #22 GM Paille Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will be making just his second start at Wyant Group Raceway. In 2015 he was able to come from deep in the pack to finish in 5th place. He is looking to improve on that 5th place this year. “I am happy to be returning to Western Canada for these races,” said Camirand. “The last time I was there in 2015 we had a good result. I’m looking forward to having more good finishes in Saskatoon & Edmonton to improve my position in the championship points.”

NASCAR Pintys Series practice at Wyant Group Raceway will take place at 12:20 p.m., qualifying will follow at 3:00 p.m., autograph session at 4:35 p.m. with the green flag for the Bayer Crop Science Velocity Prairie Thunder first of the Twin 125’s at 6:05 p.m. with the second 125 scheduled for 8:30 p.m. approximately.
