Barrie Ontario – Kendra Adams is pleased to announce that she will be stepping-up to the premiere class at Sunset International Speedway; the Sauble Falls NASCAR Late Model division.
At 17, Adams will be the youngest driver in this year’s highly competitive and experienced field of Sauble Falls NASCAR Late Model drivers.
In 2016 Adams competed in the St. Onge Recreation Super Stock division which consists of cars based on 70’s and 80’s General Motors chassis and designed as an excellent driver development tool for those who look to ascend the racing ladder.
The main differences Adams will have to adjust to in the Sauble Falls NASCAR Late Model Division are softer compound slick tires over the treaded tires she’s accustomed to, higher horsepower built motors as well as more advanced front and rear suspension. As the highest division at Sunset Speedway drivers compete in NASCAR’s Whelen All American Series Division One competing for the National Title.
“We made the decision last week to move up to the Late Model division this season and focus all our efforts there. It was determined that working with two cars would be too much for our small crew and our budget. I go into the season hoping to learn from some of the best drivers in Ontario, some who are NASCAR provincial champions.” said Adams
To assist Adams with this ambitious transition respected driving instructor Daniel Bois will be her driver coach this season to help her adjust to the new car, overall car control and the additional horsepower now at her disposal. Founder of Daniel Bois Autosport, Bois has raced for years as well as providing driving instruction to many talented NASCAR drivers such as Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, Cole Custer, Cameron Haley and Ben Rhodes to name a few. Adams is looking forward to taking it to the track this coming weekend for her first official practice under the guidance of Bois.
This Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 at 11:00AM Adams will be on hand at Canada’s Wonderland for the annual province-wide Project E.R.A.S.E (Eliminate Racing Activity on Streets Everywhere) launch adding her voice to the various Police and law enforcement representatives encouraging the public to keep racing and stunt driving off public streets and highways and to Take It to the Track.
Adams is thankful for her family of sponsors that help fuel her dreams: Mobil 1, SE Telecom, Avaya, Paul Quail Transport, Onepromo.ca / Epic Racewear, The Mortgage Station, Speedy Auto Machine, Radical Rods, Rides and Restoration, Krueger Electrical Services, Infinet Motorsports, Tyger Shark, Human 2.0, and WIX Filters and is proud to represent Revo sunglasses.
Adams is a proud "Laps for Muscular Dystrophy" (Laps4MD) driver who’s pledged to donate $1 for every lap she leads this season. These donations go to Muscular Dystrophy Canada to help make a difference in the lives of over 50,000 Canadians affected by a neuromuscular disorder.
She is also a proud supporter of Kids Help Phone, who offers a 24/7 critical lifeline of hope and support for kids, teens, and young adults through its free, confidential and anonymous services as well as Make-A-Wish® Canada whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
