Thorold, Ontario – Time will tell if it will stay green for Christmas this year – but one thing getting closer to going green is Merrittville Speedway’s 2017 Season.
A Driver Information Session scheduled for Saturday December 18th at Port Robinson’s Club Castropignano will have Pit and Grandstand Season Passes available.
“Even though our Grandstands and Pit Area Ticket Packages are available starting December 12th from the Winter Office … the last Sunday before Christmas at our first Driver Information Session is also a perfect opportunity for gift ideas,” said (new Merrittville Owner) Don Spiece.”
Race Fans can save more than $100.00 in purchasing either one of two Grandstand Season Ticket options in 2017.
General Admission Grandstand Season Tickets for Adults are $265.00 and Youth from 13 to 18 and Seniors 60 are $245.00 while Reserved Grandstand Season Tickets are $295.00 and $265.00 respectively.
“With a Season Ticket … race fans are sure to enjoy some old favorites and new twists from start to finish that we have planned for our first season at the same rates as last season,” added Spiece, “and that’s quite a saving as regular night admission prices will be increased by $1 – from $13 to $14 for adults and from $11 to $12 for Students (13-18) and Seniors (60 years and up).”
Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Race Teams will have streamlined options for the coming season – including the Driver VIP Passes that are now available to any driver competing in 2017. Memberships will no longer be offered in 2017. The cost for all drivers is $250.00.
“To use the new Driver VIP Pass – you must have your car in the pit area and compete on that given night,” revealed Spiece, “if there is a night between April 29th and September 2nd that your division is not on the schedule … you can still use it for admission … Driver VIP Passes will only be available until March 1st.” Driver VIP Passes are valid between April 29th and September 2nd.”
Pit Season Passes are also available for $375.00 (savings of over $300) until March 1st when it becomes $450.00.
To collect points, season ending awards and point money in 2017, Sportsman and 358 Drivers must be DIRTcar Members by June 1st. DIRTcar Memberships are available at the Speedway Office and will also be available on the Meeting Day December 18th. Additionally, to be eligible for season ending awards and point monies, drivers must have maintained attendance of 75% or greater in 2017.
4 Cylinders, Modified Lites and Hoosier Stocks are not required to hold a Driver VIP Pass or Pit Season Pass to collect points, but must have at least 75% attendance in 2017 to receive point fund monies and any other awards at the end of the season.
“We’re hoping that by eliminating Memberships … lineups at the Pit Gate will be lessened – making Saturday Nights simpler and easier for staff and race teams alike,” informed Spiece, “with a flat $30 admission fee on regular event nights for the pits each week … it only makes sense for drivers and crew members to purchase season passes.”
