Montreal, Quebec - Alex Tagliani recently attended the 2015 NASCAR Combined XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series Awards Banquet in Hollywood, Florida which celebrated, among another things, Team Penske's third consecutive NASCAR XFINITY Owners Championship. Tagliani was among the four drivers of the No. 22 Team Penske Discount Tire Ford Mustang responsible for the title.

Team Penske won the title with Ryan Blaney who drove in 13 races, Sprint Cup drivers Joey Logano (11) and Brad Keselowski (9), and Tagliani who contributed in the points tally when he drove the Ford Mustang to second place at Mid-Ohio last August. After capturing the pole, the Canadian driver led the 75-lap three times for a race high of 38. Recently inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame, Tagliani also contributed to Penske's title in 2014 when he finished runner-up at Road America and scored a Top-5 finish at Mid-Ohio.

Tagliani: Once again included in most popular driver nominations

Tagliani's name was also in the NASCAR news lately when he finished second in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Most Popular Driver Award. Tagliani was only 104 votes short of beating this year's winner Jason Hathaway. It is the second time in as many years that Tagliani finishes runner-up. Last year, he missed out on the top spot by a slim 48-vote margin.
