Alex Tagliani looking to finish the 2015 season on a high note this weekend at Kawartha Speedway

Montreal, Quebec – The final round of the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) will be held Saturday, September 19 on the .375-mile Kawartha Speedway banked oval located in Fraserville near Peterborough, Ontario. Green flag for the 250-lap race will be dropped at 5 p.m. Two practice sessions will be held around noon with qualifying beginning 3:15 p.m.

Alex Tagliani is going to Kawartha Speedway with high hopes of earning his second oval race win of the season. Tag needs to score big if he wants his Tagliani Autosport team to move up from fourth to third place in the Owners Standings.

"I want to win this for Colin Livingston, the owner and manager of the number 18 Chevrolet EpiPen/CGI/ CanTorque entry," Tagliani said. "This is my final wish for the 2015 racing season and it would be wonderful to win for the CanTorque owner who has been a long time partner in this venture. We want to close the season on a high note."

Looking Back at the 2015 Season

"This has been an amazing year for the EpiPen/CGI/CanTorque number 18 Chevrolet entry and for me," continued Tagliani. "I won my first NASCAR oval race, we are now the proud parents of beautiful Eva-Rose, and I am going to be inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame on October 17 in Toronto. This has been a great year so far."

Tagliani entered the NASCAR Canada record book when he scored an historic win at Sunset Speedway in June when his Chevrolet EpiPen/Can Torque lapped the whole field on its way to the Winner's Circle. It was Tagliani's first NASCAR oval track victory and he is looking to add another one this weekend.

"The Tagliani Autosport squad did a remarkable job all year with the Chevrolet and had to deal with the two replacement drivers while I was away racing in IndyCar and NASCAR XFinity. We got great performances from both drivers, especially Pier-Luc Ouellette who finished eighth in his series debut in the NCATS season opener. Of course, I feel for David Michaud who ran as high as second place most of the first half of his race at Riverside Speedway in Nova Scotia before he encountered mechanical problems with a little more than 50 laps to go."

The Quebec driver pulled double and triple duties twice this year. He ran a strong NASCAR race at the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivières, finishing third and winning both Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) class poles before being sidelined with mechanical problems in both races. He also had the time of his life at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park at the end of August competing in three series, winning three poles in the four races entered, and winning twice in the CTCC Grand Touring Class.

Aside from his Truck Series pole and fifth place finish with Brad Keselowski's Ford F-150 at Mosport, Tagliani also collected his second consecutive NASCAR XFinity pole for Team Penske on his way to a heartbreaking second place finish at Mid-Ohio. Tag was leading with two corners to go when he was bumped off the track. He finished second.

"Overall, I am really happy and very grateful for the wonderful season we've had, but it went by too quickly," concluded Tag.
