Trois-Rivières, Québec – Behind the wheel of the #04 Dodge Bernier Crépeau / Bellemare/ MIA, Jean-François Dumoulin will hit the oval track of the Kawartha Speedway (Fraserville, Ontario) for the first time, this Saturday September 19th during the last event of the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire season. The elder Dumoulin brother is confident in his ability to perform once again, and aims for nothing less than a fifth top 5 finish.

The driver of the #04 Bernier Crépeau / Bellemare/ MIA car admits his satisfaction with his results. “It’s the first year I ever raced on oval tracks. I have to say that I could count on excellent advice from my brother [Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, 2014 champion of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series] and on an excellent crew chief in Éric Laperle,” reminds Jean-François Dumoulin, who has two top 5s and four top 10s in only six starts on this type of circuit.

He is able to prove it with his each and every presence, and by constantly improving his performances. “I need to be more aggressive in qualifiers, it’s always more risky to start a race in the middle of the pack. It complicates things needlessly. During the race, there are overtaking techniques that I start to better master, however I know that I can do even better. I appreciate racing on oval circuits more and more as I go, it’s a nice challenge.” Jean-François Dumoulin distinguishes himself through his racing abilities, and especially through his combative style that perfectly fits the NASCAR Canadian Tire series. Behind the wheel of the #04 Dodge Bernier Crépeau / Bellemare/ MIA, he can fight with the best and finishes his races.

Another circuit to discover for Jean-François Dumoulin. “I’ve never taken part in trials on this track, but I’m used to it as it was the same situation all season long. We only had a single practice session throughout the whole season, since we’re working on a limited budget,” explains the twice-winner of the 24 hrs of Daytona (2004 in SGS, and 2007 in GT).

An Imposing Grid

The last race of the year often means a high number of drivers, and this is the oval track event with the largest starting grid of the year, with 25 drivers registered for Kawartha on average. “Competition will be intense, says Jean-François Dumoulin. We all want to finish strong, to better prepare for the next season. It’s a long, 250-lap race, anything can still happen, so we have to be patient and take advantage of all opportunities.

The Pinty's 250 will be presented on September 19th at the Kawartha Speedway, located in Fraserville in Ontario. It’s a third of a mile long, with an average tilt; A track that always offers a lot of action.

*The race will be broadcasted on TSN on October 3 at 1 p.m. and on RDS2 on October 22 at 7 p.m
