Bowmanville, Ontario – Dunlop Motorcycle Tires has agreed to extend its support of the Mopar CSBK Canadian National motorcycle road racing Championship through the completion of the 2019 racing season.

Following a meeting at Dunlop Head Office in Buffalo, CSBK organizer Professional Motorsports Productions confirmed the continuation of its “spec tire” arrangement with Dunlop, handled by Canadian Distributor Pro 6 Racing in Toronto.

Dunlop has served as the Official Tire of the Mopar CSBK Series since 2014, with both slick and DOT type tires exclusively available through Pro 6 at each venue on the National tour. Dunlop has also served as the control tire for the American National Series since 2009.

“We’re very happy with our relationship with the racers, team and fans in Canada,” explained Michael Buckley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Dunlop Motorcycle Tires. “We are pleased with the growth of the series, the performance of the racers on our equipment, and our involvement on the Canadian National and Club scene. It was a logical step to continue our positive relationship with CSBK.”

At this weekend’s Mopar CSBK season finals at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Dunlop sponsored the Canadian debut of its special Qualifying slick tires for the featured Pro Superbike class, during the Dalton Timmis Insurance Superpole Q session on Friday afternoon.

Jordan Szoke took advantage of the special Q tire to break the five-year-old CTMP Pro Superbike lap record with a time of one minute, 20.778 seconds around the 3.9km (2.459-mile) CTMP track on his BMW S1000RR.

Qualifying tires have been part of the format for the Superbike class in MotoAmerica action in the U.S. this season.

“Since we began providing Dunlop tires for the CSBK Series, we’ve been fortunate to work with the top riders and steadily improve our product,” explained Pro 6 owner Sandy Noce. “We have some interesting ideas for the future of CSBK, and everyone with Dunlop is looking forward to ongoing product development and superior performance.”

On Saturday at CTMP, BMW’s Jordan Szoke won the Mopar CSBK Championship using Dunlop slick tires, while Kenny Riedmann had DOT-class Dunlops on his Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike title-winning Kawasaki entry in the middleweight production machine category.

“We’re very proud of our co-operative relationship with Dunlop, and I think we have worked very well together over the past three seasons,” explained CSBK Series boss Colin Fraser. “Dunlop has a great history in Canadian racing.

“I think Dunlop has responded well to the various challenges you face as a spec race tire supplier, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner. We’re looking forward to continued growth with Dunlop in the future.”

Dunlop Motorcycle Tires and Pro 6 Racing will confirm the tire selection available for Pro and Amateur competitors for the 2017 Mopar CSBK Series during the upcoming winter Motorcycle Show season in Canada.
