Thorold, Ontario – Merrittville Speedway’s Kart Season concluded the month of May with three drivers winning their first St. Catharines Discount Auto Parts Features of 2016.

Taking his first checkered flag was Zach Trotter in the RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1 Division. Also visiting Victory Lane was current Van Raine Construction 4 Cylinder Saturday Night Rookie Austyn Werstroh. The third generation driver’s win came after a late race move to come out on top in the Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Division.

The final event of the night saw Matt Sharpe take home his first Feature Win in the Cassell Manufacturing Senior Fun Division.

In other Performance Manufacturing Divisional action, three drivers each won their second features – William Younger, Hana Rothewell and Dylan Culp in the Van Sickle Pet Valu Novice 1, Tim Phillips Garage St. Catharines Discount Auto Parts Novice 2 and the Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal Divisions respectively.

For the last three weeks, there has only been one winner in the Ed MacPherson Construction Junior 2 Division. Second generation driver Donny Lampman took home his third straight win.

Kart Racing continues Tuesday May 17th. Pits Open at 5:30 and when the racing starts at 7 PM – Grandstand Admission is FREE.
