St Catharines, Ontario – FEL Motorsports is thrilled to announce that this September 27-29 the Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin (RCC) will make its debut at the iconic circuit in Mont-Tremblant for the final round of the 2024 season. This marks the first time an FEL Motorsports series will race at the renowned Quebec venue, adding an exciting chapter to Emzone RCC competition.

Nestled in the picturesque Laurentian Mountains, the circuit in Mont-Tremblant has a storied history dating back to its opening in 1964. The 4.26-kilometer track, known for its challenging elevation changes and fast, sweeping turns, has played host to numerous legendary races, including the Canadian Grand Prix, and has become a favorite among drivers and fans alike.

The Emzone RCC’s venture to Mont-Tremblant not only represents a significant milestone for the series but also marks the final weekend of the 2024 season. The track will host the end-of-year award banquet for the Radical series, commemorating the teams and drivers for their efforts during the 2024 season.

To adhere to local regulations and ensure a harmonious experience for all, the Radicals participating in the event will utilize a factory muffler kit to meet noise limits set by the town. This adjustment allows competitors and spectators to enjoy the exhilarating racing action while respecting the surrounding community.

Chris Bye, President of FEL Motorsports, expressed his gratitude towards track manager, Vince Loughran, for welcoming the Emzone RCC to this legendary circuit. Bye stated, “We are honored to bring the Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin to Mont-Tremblant for the first time. This historic venue has a unique charm and challenging layout that will undoubtedly provide a fitting backdrop for the culmination of our 2024 season. On behalf of our FEL Motorsports community, I would like to thank Vince and the entire team at Piste Mont-Tremblant Inc for their support and cooperation.”

The FEL Motorsports Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin at Mont-Tremblant promises to be an unforgettable weekend of racing, combining the thrill of high-performance Radicals with the charm and history of one of Canada’s most beloved tracks.

The Indy Car finale is moving from the streets of Nashville to the Speedway at the fairgrounds. (Photo-IndyCar.com)

February 14, 2024

In a big announcement earlier today, Indy Car announced that the series finale, originally scheduled for the streets of Nashville, will be moving the speedway at the Nashville Fairgrounds.

On the surface, this looks like a backwards step for Indy Car, followed not long after the announcement that the introduction of the new hybrid engines was being put off until after the Indianapolis 500 at the end of May.

Scott Borchetta, previously the sponsor of the Nashville race but now in charge of it, and Indy Car's Mark Miles spoke to the media this afternoon about the change.

Like Vancouver years ago, and very possibly Toronto as early as next year, the change to the schedule came about as a result of construction in downtown, notably at Titan Stadium, which has been an important part of the race since it's inception.

A new issue for 2024 and the new September date is a possible conflict with the NFL and the Titans. With the three previous races held in early August, a home game for the Titans was never a concern for race organizers, but with the new date moving to mid-September, it moves into the beginning of the NFL schedule. A huge problem now arises from the fact that the NFL won't release their schedule until May, and a Titans home game on the same weekend as the Music City Grand Prix would be a disaster for the race.

When asked if there wasn't enough due diligence done back in August in the lead up to the schedule release, Borchetta characterized that, in a very frank and honest answer, as “probably a good assessment”. He went on to say the team didn't look deep enough into the new track layout planned for the 2024 race and how it would be affected by by construction at the stadium and along the new route.

Borchetta also acknowledged that he was not happy with the new traffic plan presented to him by the city and didn't want his brand, Big Machine, or Indy Car to be associated with the black eye of badly disrupting traffic in order for the event to take place.

Another concern raised was for fans that had already booked their accommodations downtown, although tickets for the race have not yet gone on sale. Borchetta addressed this by saying the fan experience is most important to him, and there will be shuttles running to the track, as well as much of the planned entertainment and festivities continuing to take place downtown.

With construction at Titan stadium continuing at least until the start of the 2027 NFL season, it seems likely the race will continue at the Speedway at least until then, and through the end of the current contract, which runs through the 2026 race. Borchetta reiterated that his group will be in touch regularly with the city and still plans to go back to racing downtown as early as possible, but also acknowledged that there will be ongoing challenges for a downtown race.

Mark Miles was asked if he felt the late schedule change would have any effect on the current TV rights negotiations and felt it wouldn't be a concern at all, and pointed to the current positives of Indy Car, including virtually all measurement metrics being up, including TV, streaming and merchandise sales.

Miles was also asked about the non-points race in Argentina with the on-going political disruptions there and said that, while negotiations were on-going and the series would like to go to Argentina, it's very unlikely that will happen in 2024.

Was this an ideal situation to be in? No, definitely not, but street circuits in downtown locations are always going to be a challenge and will always run the risk of last minute disruptions, especially for construction and changing political fortunes.

At the end of the day, the move to the Speedway is the right one, it's just unfortunate this decision couldn't have been reached early, or possibly foreseen before the schedule announcement.

One last note to end on, I was incredibly impressed with Scott Borchetta. He got asked some tough questions today and was very forthcoming and honest with his answers, and I think the race in his hands, at the end of the day, will do well.

15 year old rising star Ayden Ingratta becomes an instant threat for the title. (Photo-RTD MEdia)

February 7, 2024

After several test days and a couple of event weekends in 2023, Ayden Ingratta and Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) have come to terms on a 2024 effort. Set to make a title run in the USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire, the Road to Racing Canada, A14 Management driver, and young Canadian will be a major piece to the JHDD puzzle for success.

“While we are set for our first full season in the USF Juniors program, Ayden has shown speed in testing and will challenge for race wins, podium results, and the championship in 2024,” explained Team Owner and former NTT INDYCAR Series driver Jay Howard. “Ayden has been a winner through the karting ranks, and I was very impressed with his natural skill and ability as he made his move into formula car racing.”

Ayden Ingratta is a 15-year-old rising motorsports star from Kingsville, Ontario, competing in the top levels of karting across North America. Ayden was first exposed to racing at his local karting track at the age of five, where he immediately became hooked on the sport. By age seven, Ayden participated in competitive events and became a top contender in the Canadian karting scene. At age ten, Ingratta won his first Canadian National Championship and was nominated for and won the Canadian Karting News 2018 Eastern Canadian Driver of the Year.

Ayden followed up on his success within the Canadian karting scene by branching out and entering races across both the US and Canada. His continued success throughout these various series saw him qualify for several international events in 2020 and part of 2021 that he was, unfortunately, unable to attend because of the global pandemic. After getting back into races in 2021, he continued to dominate the karting world on both sides of the border.

While continuing to race karts, in 2024, Ayden Ingratta is finally confirmed to compete in his first full season of the USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire with Jay Howard Driver Development.

“We started off with a few race events last year at Road America and the Circuit of the Americas just to see the level that I would need to be at entering 2024,” added Ingratta. “Those events helped push me to be better both on and off the track, and I am ready to attack the season and see if I can help add to the growing JHDD resume.”

With additional test days and weekends planned between now and the first race of the season, Ayden Ingratta will make his first start of the 2024 USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire series program, April 5-7 at NOLA Motorsports Park, just outside New Orleans, Louisiana.
