Team Turner is off to the Canadian Nationals.
Caistor Centre, Ontario - Jamie Turner, and sons Cory and Ryan got drenched at the regular season finale at Ohsweken Speedway last Friday. They're hoping for nicer weather to compete in the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals this weekend.
SEPTEMBER 5 - OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY
Jamie and Cory were all set to compete in the Season Championship event for Ohsweken Speedway's 360 Sprint Car division last Friday, while Ryan was making his Sprint Car debut driving Havard Daniels' #9nz. Mother nature had other plans though, as a severe thunder storm blew in just before their heat races were about to start, forcing track officials to cancel the event.
Jamie will finish the Ohsweken season 8th in the championship standings - his first top 10 since 2010 - while Cory will finish 10th and take Rookie of the Year honours.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Cory and Jamie will finish off the Ohsweken Speedway racing season by competing in the 10th annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals weekend. It will be Jamie's 5th consecutive CSCN, while Cory is a CSCN rookie as a driver.
"We are definitely looking forward to the nationals as the best of the best will be in town!" said Cory.
