Caistor Centre, Ontario - Jamie Turner, sons Cory and Ryan, and teammate Havard Daniels spent Labour Day weekend racing at 3 different Ontario tracks. Now they're looking ahead to the regular season finale at Ohsweken Speedway, and the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 29 - OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY
The weekend began on Friday night at Ohsweken Speedway, where Jamie, Cory, and Havard competed in their 360 Sprint Cars. Cory finished 2nd in his heat race and got a spot in the redraw for feature starting positions, while Jamie and Havard finished 5th in their heat races. Cory drew the 8th starting spot for the feature, while Jamie started 12th, and Havard started 14th. Jamie moved up to finish 10th in the feature, while Havard finished 8th.

"In the feature I really missed the setup and brought the car home in 14th," Cory said.

Jamie is 8th in the Ohsweken championship standings heading into the Season Championship race on Friday, while Cory is 10th and leads the Rookie of the Year standings.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 30 - MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAY
Ryan raced in the final points race of the Merrittville season with his DIRTcar Sportsman Modified on Saturday night. He fell back in his heat race and started 19th in the feature as a result.

"In the feature he had a solid run as he started 19th and finished 10th," said Cory. "His car was quick on the bottom and the top, and he did a great job to miss multiple wrecks throughout the feature."

Ryan is 10th in the final Merrittville championship standings.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 30 - BRIGHTON SPEEDWAY
Jamie, Cory, and Havard travelled to Brighton Speedway for the first of 2 Labour Day Classic events for the Southern Ontario Sprints tour. Cory and Jamie both finished 3rd in their heat races and earned spots in the redraw for feature starting positions, while Havard finished 5th in his heat race. Jamie started 6th in the feature, while Cory started 7th, and Havard started 14th and finished 17th.

"I had a strong race going until I got off the cushion and lost a few spots," said Cory. "I was able to finish in the 10th position.(Jamie) had a decent run going, but got a little bottled up in lap traffic and finished 8th."

SUNDAY, AUGUST 31 - HUMBERSTONE SPEEDWAY
Humberstone's races were cancelled after the untimely passing of track owner Pete Cosco last week. The track will be back in action soon, just as Pete would want it to be, and Ryan is currently 7th in the Humberstone championship standings.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 31 - BRIGHTON SPEEDWAY
Jamie, Cory, and Havard were back at Brighton on Sunday for the 2nd half of the Southern Ontario Sprints Labour Day Classic weekend. All 3 drivers ended up in the same heat race, with Cory winning, Jamie finishing 3rd, and Havard finishing 5th. Cory and Jamie qualified for the redraw for feature starting spots as a result,

I started on the pole of my heat race and was able to get the win. I pulled the 6 pill for the feature...My Dad started 3rd and finished 3rd in the heat which also locked him into the redraw.

"For the first couple of laps of the race my car was extremely good in the middle to the top of the track and I looked to go to the 2nd spot until an early caution broke my momentum," Cory said. "I never really made any time later in that groove, but the highlight was definitely passing my Dad in the final corner to beat him by a wheel for the 7th spot. He started outside the front row and ran in the top 5 all night until a lap 23 caution bunched the field up. He lost spots to a few cars, including me, and was able to finish in 8th."

Havard was credited with 17th again.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Cory and Jamie will be back at Ohsweken for the Season Championship event with their 360 Sprint Cars, while Ryan has the weekend off.
