First race: May 16–17, 2015– Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200

Trois-Rivières, Québec – At the wheel of the #04 Bernier Crépeau / Group Bellemare / MIA car, it is with confidence that Jean-François Dumoulin will take part in the first race of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series which will occur this weekend on the road circuit of the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Everything is in place for the elder Dumoulin brother to be able to compete with the leaders, and it is with great enthusiasm that the teammates and crew chief, Éric Laperle, are ready to overcome the challenge.

The #04 Bernier Crépeau / Group Bellemare / MIA team can count on the collaboration of King Autosport, and a synergy is in effect between Éric Laperle and Jean-François Dumoulin. “We get along very well, and our line of thinking for racing is very similar. Adjustments will be made throughout the whole weekend and we’re going to show up with the intent to have a strong performance,” shares Éric Laperle, crew chief. “Éric is an oval track specialist, and I’m the same with road circuits. This allows us to work very well with each other on a variety of things, and we’re off to a great start,” adds Jean-François.

It’s a track that Jean-François Dumoulin knows well, having crossed its finish line with the lead in different series, and having taught as professional racing instructors (Fiorano Racing and others). Notably, over the course of several years, Jean-François Dumoulin has accompanied a successful racing team, Speed Merchants, in the process of optimizing their results in the Porsche GT3 Challenge Cup (Canada and United States). Adding to that, his participation in the NASCAR Canadian Tire series, the Quebecer has six podiums on this track, including three victories in 1997 (Formule Ford), 2000 (Motorola Cup), and 2003 (Grand-Am Cup).

“I’m very motivated, the trials were encouraging. I had never been at CTMP with a NASCAR car, and our times were good right away. We’re confident for the weekend. I’m very happy with the way this season is starting, it's great to see the organization, the collaboration with King Autosport, working with Éric Laperle during the weekends and, of course, the support from Bernier Crépeau, Bellemare, and Trois-Rivières Mitsubishi in this adventure. With MIA giving me a chance to race in very competitive cars this year, I’m already excited for the first race and the oval track event that will follow."
