Roxton Pond, Quebec native Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team are set to kick off the 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series racing season this coming weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in the Clarington 200. Last season Ranger started on pole for both races held at the track but wasn’t able to snag the race win. That’s something he intends to change this year.
In addition to claiming another pole, his sixth, this year the Mopar Motorsports driver intends to be back on the top step of the podium celebrating victory as he’s done twice previously.
The world-class 10-turn road course is a challenging setting to open the new season but Ranger has worked hard over the winter to be ready. “I trained very hard, did lots of snowmobiling and I can’t wait to get the season underway” said Ranger.
Once again this year the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge driven by Ranger will be prepared by DJK Racing. “We always had a fast car last year and maybe the deal coming together a bit late hurt us in the reliability, but not this year” explained the driver. “We have all the same team back this year, my Crew Chief Bill Burns and everyone else, and it’s a good chemistry with everyone”.
Ranger hit the track in his #27 Mopar Parts Dodge last week for a pre-season test session and was pleased with their time on the track. “The car felt very good as I expected, we double checked some things and we are ready to get started this weekend” he stated.
On track action begins this weekend for the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team with practice and qualifying on Saturday at CTMP. The Clarington 200 race will take place Sunday afternoon with the green flag flying at 12:30PM Eastern Time.
TV Broadcast: Saturday May 23rd, 1PM on TSN, Sunday June 14th, 4:30PM on RDS2. All times Eastern.
